ohhhh yaaaa --- can't wait to play with this. Thanks for your effort.
My first thought on this: this should be great for all the poker table builders that are using the new dye sublimation for custom playing felt. Do you think that will work? I see lots of posibilites. (now if I could only spell).

The pictures used for this, what format should they be in? Should I do them in .gif so they have a transparent background and all that shows is the circular design or does this tool automatically crop the square background out of .jpg's and stuff? I'm designing something for a "local" business and I want to use this tool to show them my "proposal" of what their chips will look like. Also, does this tool only do only one chip at a time or can you use it like the "clay" designer and have all the chips in a set stacked together? Man, once I start using this to show people their designed chips, you should get more people here at your forums! Plus, since there is no mold design incorporated in to the other one for the new Palm Import clays, I can desing the chip with the mold as a full faced chip and use it. This tool is going to be AWESOME for me and my designs!

I don't have the source code available right now, and I can't recall every format that I added support for, but I know positively that JPG and PNG formats will work. I think that GIF might also work. See the first post in this thread for links to the TEMPLATE file that should be used for submitting images for upload.

There's no need to worry about transparancy in the source image. The code will automatically mask/filter anything that isn't within the designated area(s) as outlined in the template.

Currently, this tool can only generate the stack image for a single source, which means if you want multiple stacks of different chips, you'll have to do the image combining yourself

I'm glad you see the potential of this tool! Remember that this is an early beta version, with very basic functionality. I'm very busy with other projects at work and at home right now, so I've got little time to move forward on this tool. When I do get around to updating, I'll be sure to post a notice.

Default My quick try

I've been working on some custom ceramics for a while. This is a great tool... here's what I did in about 15 minutes.

Of course I'm always looking for input.

Pretty swift for only 15 minutes of work.

I hope you don't mind, but below I took the liberty to include the original image from the tool's output cache, so anyone viewing the thread could see your mock-up without having to click on the attachment.

No problem, I'd been working on a face layout for a while, so I had the elements ready, but it says a lot about your tool for the amount of time it took me. It works great, can't wait till it can do some of the things the chip forge can. Is it going to be able to do different sized faces (I believe that 39mm is a common size).

Keep up the great work,

Kari

Well, ceramics aren't readily available in other sizes at this point ... who knows about the future.

Very neat tool, very helpful for getting my design closer to finalised. I do have one suggestion/request: provide an option to have the orientation of the edge spots random (i.e. the chips face up or face down) -- this will help people who want non rotationally-symmetric edges like so:

To get this effect I created 2 stacks (one each way) and then erased some chips. Unfortunately it means I couldn't pick the less aligned stacks.

Great tool!
